I’m Alan Cox.
While I dislike bios, I thinks it’s probably fair to tell you a bit about me.
I started my career as an electronics engineer for a big avionics company. But for most of my working life I’ve worked for myself in various businesses and startups.
After a series of difficult life events, life took its toll and I had a fairly major mental breakdown. Whilst this was a horrendous time, it was also a turning point for me. A turning point that led to learnings, realisations and life changes that have changed the course of my life for the better.
One of my big realisations was that working on your mental wellbeing is just as important, if not moreso, than your physical health. I’d never done that. When I started to do it, that’s when things started to get better.
I now head up Akimbo, a mental fitness startup, and I’m involved in various other mental wellbeing initiatives.

I try my best to address mental wellbeing in a fun and engaging way that leaves a lasting impact.
