Self-confessed coffee snob, entrepreneur, budding philanthropist, cyclist,
founder of LeftClick and Sonar43.
My name is Alan Cox. I am originally from Billericay in England but now living a happy and fulfilling life in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am a father of three and have an English Cocker Spaniel called Alfie who comes to work at my office.
I originally trained as an electronics engineer with Marconi Avionics. For the past 15 years I have been involved in software design and have been practising user-centred design for the best part of that time. The past 10 years has been focused on user-experience-design for web and e-commerce.
I’m on my way to being a philanthropreneur. If you want to know more about what that means click here.
Currently, I’m managing director at user-experience-design studio LeftClick and software start-up Sonar43.
When I’m not working, I go for long cycle rides around the Port Hills, do family stuff with my three kids, and when I get time do a bit of photography..
Cox.net.nz is my personal weblog. Occasionally I feel passionate about something enough to want to write something, and here’s where I do that. All of the opinions on this site are my own and do not represent those of my company, colleagues or any other life forms.
